The past few days have been raining non-stop (almost literally)...oh give me a break!!! It has been continuous rain, never give our Sun some chance to shine thru (pun intended..!). For most of you out there, the rain may bring coolness and comfort...but not for me. Cause the dear boy here still in A R M Y.
My days are very lousy in camp...rain...can't open the stupid Wallaby container (cause no shelter). My fellow specs commented that in the army, we are 'supposed' to be capable of working in the rain. But hey, the guys moving the stuff are all our men, I can't let them be sick! So it ended as a waiting game.
Although tuesday was Hari Raya Haji, to non-muslims it is a holiday where we do not need to be 'in touch' with our religion, wat i'm trying to say is that, it is really a holiday for us. But the thought of having to book in at night just blows my mood away... I went out with my dear in the evening...in the rain. Got her her 256 thumbdrive and spend the rest of the time looking at bags. Won't bore you with details... My private affairs...mm...
FInally stop raining for an afternoon on wed, can take out my stores... didn't carry much though...spend half the time checking on the quantity and conduct 'eye power'! Then band at night. Band prac was quite good, band sound much better before exam. Even i improved quite abit, finally can do the 2 octave slur smoothly 90% of the time!!! Want to catch up with weiji. haha!
THursday was range day...rain...as usual. Everything wet... we had to set up the range stores...in the rain...walk...in the rain...everything in the rain. What a pain! To make matter worse, the range targets are faulty. So range was like " Clear the butt, clear the butt, range warden proceeding to check targets..." and we spend half the time waiting for the 'uncle' to fix the targets after almost every detail (group of firers). Very fortunately though, despite all the misforgivings, I shot very well and only missed 4 out of 30 targets... Which made me an individual marksman (min 24/30 for marksman). However, as it is a group shoot, my team didn't perform and hence no overall marksman...argh!!!
Finally friday, lots of storework to be done...so tired! Not enough sleep cause we only returned to camp from the range at 12am++ the night before! By the time we unpack and bath...its already 1 plus. I know some of you reading this sleep later than 1am...but i usually sleep early so I won't be tired for work...so imagine la... Aching all over from the range...!
